雲門舞集創辦人林懷民30年來獲獎無數，成功帶領雲門揚名國際。2005年11月，林懷民更被時代雜誌封為「亞洲英雄」，再度肯定他對台灣及世界舞壇的貢獻與成就。堅持新作一定要在台灣首演的他表示如果我是一個廚師，家人一定得先品嘗我做的菜。所以新作的首演一定要在台灣！。在世界藝術舞台上擁有輝煌成就的他，希望藉由雲門舞者美麗的舞蹈與音樂讓全世界認識另一面的台灣。
